Ramos sentenced in Northgate stabbing
BRAZOS COUNTY – Kevin Ramos, 22, from Navasota received the maximum sentence after pleading guilty to stabbing one man and robbing another on Northgate in College Station in 2019.
Ramos was sentenced to 20 years in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and 25 years for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
According to authorities, officers were called at 3:36 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, to the 300 block of College Main for a stabbing in progress. Two victims had been using an automated teller machine at the location, with one standing at a distance to give privacy to the other.
Officers learned that the victim standing at a distance was allegedly attacked from behind by Ramos and received non-life-threatening lacerations to his head and neck during the struggle. The victim was able to escape and run away from the scene before Ramos allegedly turned and moved toward the individual using the ATM. The second victim handed over money to “keep from being harmed” before the suspect fled on foot.
According to officials with the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office, Ramos received the maximum sentence for his crime.
