CLIFFORD THOMAS SZYMCZAK

Clifford Thomas (Tommy) Szymczak, 78, of Richards, died Saturday evening, July 3, 2021, at CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan.

A gathering of family and friends will take place Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1511 Hwy 90, in Anderson. A vigil services and rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. led by Deacon Russell Pasket. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 9, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Elias Lopez as the celebrant. The rite of committal will follow in St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Patrick, Tim Cliff, Frank, Cody and James Szymczak.

Tommy was born July 30, 1942 in Anderson to Frank Ed and Cecilia Katherine Walkoviak Szymczak. He graduated from Richards High School and worked for a time at NOV Grant Prideco and later Texas A&M University in the maintenance department from which he retired. In his retirement he enjoyed the country life in Richards with his beloved dogs and was an avid Houston sports fan – The Astros, Texans and the Rockets.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James Szymczak and Rev. Joseph Szymczak; sisters, Theresa Szymczak, Florence Ogrodowicz, Marcella Reaves and Margaret Hoffart.

Survivors include his brother-in-law, Marcus Ray Reaves and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Kennedy along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
