JIMMIE GLENN ROBERSON
1953 – 2021
Mrs. Jimmie Glenn Roberson, 68, of Bryan, formerly of Navasota and Austin, died Thursday morning, June 24, 2021, at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital in Bryan.
Calling hours will take place from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2021, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Cook-Walden/Capital Park Cemetery, 14501 N IH 35, in Pflugerville.
Jimmie was born January 6, 1953 in Navasota to James H. and Earline Glenn. She attended the Navasota Public Schools and graduated from Navasota High School. Jimmie accepted Christ at an early age and joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Benjamin J. Hall. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church for 37 years before she moved to Austin. In Austin, she was a member of Ulit Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Melvin Wright Jr. For the past two years she was a member of Castle Heights Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. John Sanders. Jimmie was employed with Texas A&M, Navasota Nursing and Rehabilitation and the Brenham State School as a C.N.A.
Jimmie loved and was happiest when she was sewing and cooking and she enjoyed going to church. She found the love of her life, Orange W. Roberson and they married on November 8, 1985.
Jimmie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Clement and Robert Glenn, his grandparents, Albert and Beulah Ward Robertson and brother-in-law, O.T. Pratt.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Julius Lamont Robeson of Austin; a sister, Betty Pratt of Navasota; a brother, James Glenn and wife Monica of Lewisville as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
