A wolf named McQuade

Montgomery– The Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary is excited for the great State of Texas to meet McQuade, the newest and youngest member of the wolf pack. The rescued black phase grey wolf pup is just seven months old and is already capturing the hearts of many, including local actor, martial artist, and all-around Texas icon, Chuck Norris, who has been awarded the honor of naming the newest member of the pack.

Norris and his wife, Gena, have decided to name the wolf as a nod to a 1983 classic film starring Norris. “Hearing the news took me back to one of my favorite films ‘Lone Wolf McQuade,’ where I had a wolf as a canine partner,” Norris said. “As to naming this beautiful young wolf? Why ‘McQuade,’ naturally.”

The Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary broke ground at their new 15-acre facility, 6731 Pavlock in Navasota, Aug. 18.
