Bucket list provides ride of a lifetime
As we get older, we tend to make a bucket list of things we would like to see or do before we leave this earth. When we receive medical news that is terminal that bucket list takes on a greater meaning which is the case for Bonnie Hanssard of Navasota who is in her mid 70s. She was diagnosed with two brain tumors that are inoperable and chemotherapy would reduce her quality of life.
Hanssard has always enjoyed being with friends and family, especially grandchildren, but in her younger days she enjoyed more adventurous activities such as sailing and fast cars. Naturally when you combine the two you get an airboat ride which was the last thing on her bucket list. The challenge was to find someone who provided the services that weren’t so far away. With Bonnie’s current condition any travel more than an hour away is too tiresome.
Through the recommendation of friends, Moody Ranch Outfitters in Anderson was contacted. J.D. Moody not only had access to an airboat but was willing to step up and help. Despite hunting season being one of the ranches busiest time of year, J.D and duck hunting guide Sean Harding decided they needed to provide this experience to Hanssard. They started slowly across the lake but in the end, they were screaming across the water.
Hanssard was grateful to Moody Ranch Outfitters for helping her complete her bucket list. It was a thrill that her and her family will never forget. She has since begun creating a second bucket list.
