Rattlers host cross-country meet
Horst Park, for the Rattler Invitational Cross-Country Meet.
Fulshear secured a first-place team finish for the varsity boys and a first and second place team finish with in the junior-varsity boys division.
New Caney won the varsity girls and junior-varsity girls divisions. Anderson-Shiro finished had a team finish of fourth in varsity boys and sixth in varsity girls.
Navasota finished ninth in both varsity boys and varsity girls. The Rattlers had sixth place finishes in both junior-varsity boys and girls.
Alex Flores set a personal best for the Owls with a time of 17:20 good enough to secure seventh place. Karter Ellis finished 19th with a personal best 18:07 and Jarod Thane finished 23rd with a personal best 18:49 for Anderson-Shiro Owls.
The first finisher for Navasota was Omar Magallon in 38th place with a time of 20.56. Kleber Cruz finished 45th with a time of 22:00.
Fabiola led the Lady Owls varsity with a seventh-place finish and a time of 14:28. The Lady Rattlers top finisher was Laina Cooper notching a time of 15:58.
In the JV boy’s division, Anderson-Shiro Jonothan Ritchie finished 19th with a personal best of 22:16. Elean Trejo finished 33rd for Navasota with a time of 24:36.
Maria Cortez and Princess Rodriguez had 17th and 31st place finishes respectively with times of 17:28 and 19:28 for the JV girls.
Katie Puryear finished third for the Anderson-Shiro junior high girls with a time of 13:46. Zoey Hayes finished 14:31 for 14th place and Rachael Nguyen 24th place, 16:46.
Travis Whittle paced the Owl junior high boys finishing 22nd.
Navasota will compete in the Camp Tejas Invitational Friday, Sept. 20, in Giddings. Varsity Boys begin the races at 9:30 a.m.
