Bedias food pantry open next saturday
Bedias News
Today, Sept. 11, is an opportunity to reflect on what happened 18 years ago. The disbelief of hearing the news reports, realization as we came to accept that the unthinkable was happening. To those living during these days, it may have been how our parents and grandparents felt on hearing the news of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
In the days following it was remarkable how quiet the skies were with no commercial aircraft flights and the piercing sound of military aircraft passing overhead, at once bringing both reassurance and fear that they were not on patrol but in pursuit of another attacker. We live in a new world, once filled with new hope and fear that we will once again repeat our missteps. Please let us learn from our experience, embrace our neighbors and make new friends across our wonderful blue marble, earth.
Burn Bans are now in effect for Grimes and many nearby counties, please be diligent in observing these restrictions and safety measures.
The Bedias Food Pantry will be open Saturday, Sept. 21, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please look for ways to help this important community outreach. Our friend, Richard Allemore passed away Aug. 19. Richard and Audrey were instrumental in establishing the Bedias Food Pantry and they have contributed greatly in service to the Bedias community. We invite you to send a gift to the Bedias Food Pantry or to the Brazos Valley Food Bank in their memory.
