Plantersville Town Hall 27th Scholarship Award Dinner
PLANTERSVILLE-Plantersville Town Hall was pleasantly full of scholarship recipients, their family and friends, and Town Hall Board Members who gathered for the 27th Plantersville Town Hall Scholarship Award Dinner Tuesday, July 2.
In celebration of the accomplishments of the 2019 scholarship recipients everyone enjoyed friendly fellowship and a tasty brisket dinner before the scholarships were awarded to five very qualified applicants.
Karen Hale, President of the Plantersville Town Hall Board, recognized board members for their dedication to helping our local young people attain their dreams of furthering their education and congratulated them on a combined 135 years of service to Town Hall.
Hannah Atkinson was Salutatorian of the Navasota High School class of 2019 and will be attending Texas A&M University. She was chosen to receive the Pat McHale Memorial Scholarship, given by the McHale family in memory of Pat, who was a friend to everyone he met and particularly loved young people and volunteering in our community.
Bailey Feder was awarded an Associate of Arts degree from Tyler Junior College where she performed as a member of the Apache Bells for two years. She will be majoring in Nutritional Services at Texas A&M as a junior.
Grace Mock graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University in 2018 and is attending Texas A&M School of Law.
Meghan Mock is beginning her fourth year of studies majoring in Pre-Med Biology at University of Arkansas, Fulbright College of Arts & Science.
Caitlan Rabun is beginning her fourth year of studies majoring in Interior Design at Texas State University.
Hundreds of volunteer hours by a long line of generous, dedicated Town Hall Board Members and unbelievably generous donations made by friends and supporters has made it possible for Plantersville Town Hall to have given scholarships to deserving young people for 27 years. With the five $1500.00 scholarships given this year, Town Hall has been blessed to have helped 173 students with scholarships totaling $180,500.00.
