RICHARD GENE CARRELL 1960 – 2025

Richard Gene Carrell born May 17, 1960 in Tomball, Texas to Basil Glen (B.G.) and Shirley Carrell.

He passed away in the early hours on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Richard had many friends and was loved by all who met him. He never knew a stranger. He was the true definition of a country boy. Richard loved coon hunting, his dogs and riding his Harley Davidson with friends. He and his friends Cas, JR Blakely and John Wayne ran a many a mile with their coon hounds sharing many memorable moments and lots of laughs.

Richard was the hardest worker you would ever meet. Growing up, he and his brothers would haul hay and work on ranches together.

He is preceded in death by his sister Tammy Carrell; brother, Dennis Carrell; father, B.G. Carrell; daughter, Consuelo Carrell; granddaughter, Allynah Wilson; great-great nephew, Aleksandr Paris.

Richard leaves behind his wife, Mary Hendrick-Carrell of Sour Lake; mother, Shirley Carrell of Shiro; son, Richard Carrell Jr. of San Antonio and daughter Kristian Wilson of Tyler; brother and sister-in-law, Glen Ray & Glenda Carrell of Navasota; brother and sister-in-law, Robbie & Audra Carrell of Shiro; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, many nieces, great nieces and great-great nieces, as well as many nephews, great nephews and great-great nephews

A visitation was scheduled for 12 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home, 3001 S. College Avenue, Bryan, TX. Interment followed at Independence Cemetery in Shiro around 3 p.m.
