Afternoon pursuit ends with a crash

Charges are pending for a man who led Navasota Police on a brief pursuit Tuesday afternoon with two other people including a child in the vehicle. 

Navasota Police reportedly witnessed a Nissan car commit a traffic violation around 4:45 p.m. Dec. 17, at Spur 515 and Texas 6. 

The officer attempted to pull over the Nissan at the 1000 block of South LaSalle but the vehicle continued north on LaSalle. 

According to the officer, the Nissan was swerving into oncoming traffic.

The pursuit ended when the driver lost control and crashed into a ditch on North LaSalle north of Boulder Drive.

In addition to the driver, there was a female and a child in the vehicle. Only minor injuries were sustained. 

Officers reportedly located a firearm and narcotics in the car.
