Richards FFA, athletic banquet Friday
On behalf of the community of Richards I express the deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Dorothy Burnet Turner. Dorothy Turner 101 years young passed away April
19. Please keep her family and friends in prayer. Dorothy is survived by her children Gwynetta, Carolyn, Rodney and his wife Evelyn. She was a grandmother and great-grandmother. Dorothy taught for 26 years at Richards ISD. She retired in 1985 from a 42-year teaching career. Dorothy also drove the school bus for the West Sandy route to Richards. After retirement Dorothy stayed very busy and involved. She enjoyed traveling with teacher friends, her children and nieces. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play ball. She was a volunteer at three nursing homes and a member of United Methodist Women’s Wesleyan Circle, Texas Retired Teachers Association, Member of AARP, and DRT (Daughters of the Republic of Texas) Dorothy was a member of the Farris Chapel United Methodist Church. Dorothy was a very special Christian lady. She was a wonderful teacher, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A Christian lady who always enjoyed helping others. Funeral Services were held at First Methodist Church in Huntsville April 24. Burial followed at Farris Cemetery in West Sandy.
First Baptist Church of Richards will have a National Day of Prayer May 2, at noon. The theme is “Love One Another,” and lunch will be served.

The Panthers FFA & Athletics Award Banquet will be held Friday, May 3, 6 p.m. at the Richards School Cafeteria.
The Knights of Columbus Counsel 4054 is holding a Crawfish Boil May 18, beginning at 11 a.m. There will be a Danbury Shuffle, Pick-a-Prize auction and $2 hot dogs for the children. Plates are only $15 a plate at the KC Hall in Anderson.
Remember in prayer, Stacey Wisnoski, Marie Tomkivits, Darlene Ward, Virginia Backhus, Lanny Moriarty, the Dorothy Burnet Turner family, Lena Mae Jarvis family and all the people who have been affected by the storms.
