MARIA “MARIE” WILLIS 1945 – 2024
Marie Willis, 79, of Navasota, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in Navasota. The visitation was 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery. Officiating was Max Brand. Services were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Maria was born to her parents Ruperto and Tomasa Zapata Rosales, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, on Wednesday, July 4, 1945. She attained her nursing license from Blinn and was employed with the Texas Department of Corrections at the Pack Unit in Navasota until she retired.
Preceding her in death are her husband Walter Edward Willis; her brother, Rafael Rosales; her sister Margarita Munoz and her parents.
She is survived by her sisters, Lupe and husband Don Munoz, Toni and husband Toribio Sonora; her nieces and nephews, Michael McConnell, Jonathan and wife Crystal Allen, Tanya and husband Caleb Chisum, Ricky and wife Lucy Sonora, Laura and husband Jeff Houston, Holly and husband Daniel Montenaro; her great nieces and great nephews, Gabriela McConnell, Justin McConnell, Amanda McConnell, Lexi McConnell, Nathan McConnell, Sadie Allen, Jacob Allen, Clara Rose Chisum, Aiden Sonora, Evan Sonora, Lyla Houston, and Keira Houston.
Serving as Pallbearers were Michael McConnell, Jonathan Allen, Ricky Sonora, Creed Monfore, Joey Cantu, and Caleb Chisum.
