Take me out to the ball game
Richards News
It’s an exciting time for our community! Everyone loves a good ball game and there was one this week, right here in Richards. The Richards Panthers has a new baseball field and, boy, is it nice. Parents, volunteers and school officials working together have upgraded the old baseball field at the Richards High School into a very nice one. The Panthers hosted an exciting game Friday evening, as they faced Burton in the very first game played on their new field. The Panthers didn’t come out winning, but it was close for a while and then the visitors took a good lead. I am sure there will be many more exciting games to come on this new field! Thanks to all who made this possible for the students. Go Panthers!

•The weather turned rather cool for a few days and everyone had the heat cranked up, with fireplaces, wood stoves and heat going once again. It was downright chilly and I am glad it didn’t last too many days.
Just a few days before the cold spell, I was feeling like spring had arrived. I was outside with the pressure washer, washing the house down, planting some flowers, doing yard work and getting ready to do some painting. I cleaned off my porches and had even put my plants and hanging baskets on the porch. I was just enjoying the warm days. When the weather took a turn for the cold, I brought my flowers back inside for a few days.
Well, the weather has warmed back up considerably and I think we have had a few nice evenings. The June bugs must have thought so too, as they were everywhere! I came in the house fighting the June bugs through the door. According to Face-book, those June bugs were a hot topic for many folks around Richards. I guess spring has sprung and I am hoping these guys don’t stick around too long!
