Finke heading to regionals

HEMPSTEAD — Navasota Rattler Weston Finke putted his way to Regionals with a fourth-place finish in the District 26-4A tournament at Legendary Oaks in Hemp-stead.

Finke advances to the 4A Regional golf tournament April 22-23 at the Lozano Golf Course in Corpus Christi. The Leon Howard designed course is described as a challenging par 72, measuring 7,027 yards and featuring water on most holes, as well as plentiful bunkers in the fairways and around the greens.

Finke finished the final hole of the tournament in a share for third-place. He went two holes deep in sudden death before finally dropping to fourth.

His best came in his final round with a score of 78, eight strokes better than his opening round 86. His two-day total was 164.

Also competing for the Rattlers were Jerrad Moody with rounds of 111 and 114, Jacko Ho with rounds of 112 and 121 and Keith Steptoe with 120 in each round.
