Rattler sluggers win two in Franklin
FRANKLIN — The Navasota Rattler sluggers won a pair of games in the Franklin RBI tournament over the weekend to finish 2-1-1.
Navasota 7, Teague 2
Kaleb Wisnoski pitched a complete game, allowing just two hits, while striking out 11 to take the win. Wisnoski was also a force on offense with a double and two singles.
John Lee had three singles.
Navasota 10, Fairfield
There was another great outing by Navasota pitching, this time Gavin Anderson led the way on the mound. He pitched five innings, struck out three and only surrendered one walk.
Wisnoski hit a triple and a single, while Cal Acosta had a pair of singles.
Navasota 8, Franklin 8
Neither team could take the advantage in a game that ended up knotted at eight. John Lee threw five innings, fanning three and allowing one walk.
Brady Richards paced Navasota offensively with a pair of doubles and a single. Logan Vela had a double and single and Cody Risner picked up a pair of singles.
Junior varsity
Navasota JV finished 1-1, picking up a huge 11-0 win over Hempstead and a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to the A&M Consolidated sophomore team.
In the win against Hemp-stead, Chase Risner pitched a complete game shutout, surrendering just one hit, striking out six and walking three.
Navasota JV and varsity teams will return to action Thursday in Palestine. JV begins at 10 a.m. followed by varsity at noon.
