Recipients are Elijah James Bay and Baylee Lane Francis, graduates of Richards High School and Jaden Grace Adams, graduate of Adam’s Homeschool Academy. Elijah is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Jason Bay. He will attend Texas A&M University and major in Construction Science. Baylee is daughter of Scott Francis and Joy Boyce. She will attend Sam Houston State University to major in Education. Jaden is the daughter of April Adams. She will attend Texas A&M University majoring in Architecture and Design.
WSCA was originally the old San Jacinto School built in 1900. The old building was renovated in the late 1990’s and is used as a local community center. Scholarships are awarded each year to students with family ties to the old school. Roy Lee Walker, a lifelong resident of the West Sandy Community is the oldest living graduate of the San Jacinto School. He is the great uncle to Elijah and Baylee. People in nearby towns enjoy playing 42 at the school on Friday nights and is rented for parties, weddings, family reunions and many other activities. San Jacinto is one of three still standing original threeroom schools.
