Anderson FUMC Garage Sale March 4
Hopefully Valentine’s Day was good for everyone. I was surprised with a dozen violet color roses from the sweetest little 17-month-old boy. He actually came and handed them to me.
The next few months are packed with several fish fry gatherings throughout the county. As a reminder, Salem Lutheran Church will be hosting their annual gathering Friday, March 24, at the White Hall Community Center. We will begin at 5:30 p.m. with food available for dine in or take out. Tickets are available from any member of the church. Hope to see you there.
On Saturday, four Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Auxiliary members attended the District Meeting in Caldwell. The attendance for this Memorial Service was great which showed respect for the comrades and auxiliary members who passed away this year. Our post lost four veterans and four Auxiliary members and I had the privilege of placing flowers on the altar to honor those eight members.
Thursday was the monthly Sonshine Sisters domino game and the group all left with big smiles and happy hearts.
I was notified that Navasota Food Pantry could use food donations! They need canned goods, beans, rice, pasta, cornbread and pancake mix, breakfast cereal and milk.
Anderson First United Methodist Church, 246 South Main Street, Anderson, will be hosting a multi-family large garage sale Saturday, March 4, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. with proceeds going towards a playground. The garage sale will happen rain or shine. There will be furniture, toys, household goods, wall décor, home décor, maternity clothes, boy, girl, men and women’s clothes, baby clothes, shoes, purses, books, hats and jewelry.
