Gardening 101 is March 4, from 9 a.m. until noon at Navasota Tractor Supply. Grimes County Master Gardeners will be available to answer all gardening questions.

MidSouth Electric Scholarship applications are now open. Graduating high school seniors planning to attend college, university, trade or technical school may apply for a $1,000 scholarship. Parents or legal guardians must be a member of MidSouth Electric Co-op. Applications must be submitted by March 30.
February is Black History Month, paying tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in America. African American History began with the arrival of Africans to NorthAmerica in the 16th and 17th centuries. It was Carter G. Woodson, the “father of Black History,” who first set out in 1926 to designate a time to promote and educate people about Black history and culture.

Clover Kids meetings are Feb. 27, 6 p.m. at Navasota Annex Building; Record Book Workshop Feb. 16, 6 p.m. at the Extension Office; Grimes County Round up Feb. 24, 6 p.m. and Feb. 25, 9 a.m. at the Grimes County Fairgrounds, registration deadline is Feb. 21. Thanks in advance.
FD and Georgia Calhoun Scholarship Program will be held Feb. 25, at 5 p.m. at Yarbrough Chapel UMC, 7892 FM 2819 in Anderson.
Macedonia Baptist Church, 6957 CR 206, in Plantersville “Blackberry Community” invites Grimes County to their Outreach/Health Fair Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be resources to help the community such as MD Anderson, Texas Children’s Hospital, security info, food, clothes, etc. Anyone who wants to be a part of this event may contact Ever Johnson, 936-894-2094.
