ANDERSON – The Anderson-Shiro Lady Owls clinched a District 23-3A title with a 66-55 win over Crockett.
The Lady Owls had a huge performance from senior Shelbi Belinowski who connected on five three-pointers. She finished with 25 points and four steals. Zoe Hayes scored 14 points, had seven steals, three assists and two rebounds. Gabby Goudeau scored nine, grabbed six rebounds, dished out a pair of assists and had a steal. Lacey Hurst scored seven, had nine rebounds, three assists and four steals. Camary Jackson had seven points, five rebounds and two steals.
Anderson-Shiro knocked off New Waverly 45-34. Belinowski led all Lady Owls with 12 points, six rebounds two assists and six steals. Hayes followed with 11 points, three assists and seven steals. Lacey Hurst had seven points, seven rebounds and seven steals. Jackson had seven points and Khloe Rogers added six.
The Lady Owls hosted Trinity Jan. 31 (results were not available at press time). They wrap up district play at Coldspring Feb. 3.
