Top-ranked Lady Bulldogs continue success

The No. 1 ranked Iola Lady Bulldogs had another successful week with consecutive wins over Thrall and Mumford.

Iola (26-2) started the week Tuesday, Sept. 6, with a huge 3-2 win (25-17, 24-26, 25-20, 24-26, 18-16) over the Thrall Lady Tigers, who finished as 2021 2A Runner- Up last season. The junior varsity Lady Bulldogs also sealed a 2-0 win over Thrall.

Vs Mumford Lady Mustangs

Spilling over their success on Friday, Sept. 9, the Lady Bulldogs beat the Mumford Mustangs 3-0 (24-11, 25-13, 25-11). The JV also conquered the Lady Mustangs 2-0. Both teams played extremely well.

JH North Zulch Tournament On Saturday, Sept. 10, the seventh and the eighth grade Lady Bulldog teams won the championship at the North Zulch Junior High tournament. Both teams defeated St. Joseph, Allen Academy, Hearne, and in the championship game both had wins over Alpha Omega.

The Lady Bulldogs played at Lovelady, Tuesday, Sept. 13 (results were not available at press time). Iola Lady Bulldogs hosts the Livingston Lady Lions Friday, Sept. 16, beginning at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 17, the JV will travel to compete in the Anderson JV tournament.
