Rattlers fall to state ranked Lorena
LORENA — The Navasota Rattlers traveled Monday to Lorena to take on the state-ranked Leopards but dropped the low scoring affair 4-1.
Navasota struck first in the opening inning with an RBI double from Dylan Bonnain. Lorena answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the third to tie the game.
Lorena took the lead and sealed the game with a three-run sixth inning to finalize the score 4-1.
Kaleb Wisnoski led the Rattlers on the mound, pitching six strong innings by striking out four and allowing just one walk.
Brady Richardson and Gavin Anderson each had singles in the loss for the Rattlers. Richardson and Thomas Robinson were commended for their defensive play.
Navasota begins District 26-4A play Friday, hosting Bellville with junior varsity beginning at 4:30 p.m. followed by varsity at 7 p.m.
The Rattlers host Smithville with games slated for 4:30 and 7 p.m. starts Tuesday, March 26.
