Owls notch another win
ANDERSON- The Anderson-Shiro Owls set their sights on one opponent at a time and each opponent they have become prey for the mighty Owls. The New Waverly Bulldogs are the latest to fall victim to the grasp of the Owls in a 40-7 win.
Anderson-Shiro (7-0,2-0) attacked New Waverly (4-3,0-2) with vicious attacks on the ground and through the air. Senior quarterback Cole Werner was 8-of-11 passing for 233 yards and three touchdowns.
Werner’s favorite target was junior Ca’Darrius Williams who hauled in three catches for 161 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the ball for a 58-yard score.
On the ground Werner also had success with 44 yards rushing on eight carries. Shyheim Jones had 43 yards rushing on five carries.
The Owls limited the Bulldog offense to 199 yards with 181 through the air and only 18 yards on 24 carries rushing.
Rance Imhoff led the Owls defensively with 7 tackles including one for a loss and an interception.
Anderson-Shiro plays at Corrigan-Camden Friday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m. New Waverly hosts #3Newton the same day at 7:30 p.m.
