Lady Rattlers defeat rival Cubettes

The Navasota Lady Rattlers picked up a huge, 39-34, rivalry win over the Brenham Cubettes at Rattler Gym Nov. 10.

Navasota (2-1) had a pair of double-digit scorers in the win. Jalyn Williams scored 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds and created six steals. Bryanna Stokes had 10 points and four steals. Rihanna Rush was solid defensively with five steals.

The Lady Rattlers dropped a tough game, 5030, at Aldine Davis Nov. 7. Stokes had 21 points and four rebounds in the loss. Williams contributed with eight rebounds and four steals.

Navasota JV

Following a loss to Aldine Davis in their first game of the season, the Lady Rattler JV team bounced back to go 3-1 in their tournament Nov. 9-11, and finish in third place.

The JV began the tournament with a 35-28 win over 6A Waller followed by a 37-35 win over 4A Sealy. The Lady Rattlers beat Rival 5A Brenham 2219. They wrapped up the tournament with a 23-22 loss to 5A Montgomery.

Both Lady Rattler teams hosted Normangee Nov. 14 (results were not available at press time) and will play consecutive days over the Thanksgiving break. They travel to Waller Nov. 20, and host Trinity Nov. 21. Games on both days begin with an 11 a.m. tip for JV and 12:15 tip for varsity.
