ALTAIR – Iola didn’t drop a set in a dominating performance to win the Rice Consolidated Volleyball Tournament Aug. 26-28.
The Lady Bulldogs picked up wins over Flatoia, Palacios, and St. Paul during day one of pool play. Pool play continued Friday. Iola picked up wins over Sacred Heart, Rice Consolidated, and Boling.
Saturday during gold bracket play, the Lady Bulldogs knocked Flatonia again and beat Weimer in the championship 2-0 (25-6, 25-11).
Iola breezed past Snook 3-0 (25-6, 25-2, 25-16) on Aug. 24, Iola (27-1) is ranked second in the state in 2A. They play at Franklin Sept. 1, and at Thrall Sept. 5.
