WANDA RUTH HERRIN ROBINSON
1941 – 2022
Wanda Ruth Herrin Robinson, 81 of Navasota, passed away surrounded by friends and family on Monday, June 13.
Wanda was born in Richland, Texas on March 20, 1941 to Alva Herrin and Bessie Pearl Grant Herrin. She was the youngest of seven children. Wanda met Don Robinson and they married three months later on October 12, 1963. Together they welcomed and raised five children.
Wanda was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 7, 1963. The family moved to Navasota in 1971 to help form the first congregation in town. The ministry and helping others come to know about Jehovah God and his son, Jesus Christ was the center of her life. You may have seen Wanda and Don walking hand in hand in the ministry all over Navasota and the surrounding area. Although, she became crippled at an early age, nothing stopped her from sharing her faith and enjoying God’s creations. First, she used a cane in the ministry. Later, she could be seen riding around town on her trike with a basket of literature. And over the last couple of years, even homebound in a wheelchair with dementia, she continued to write comforting letters about God’s Kingdom and the resurrection hope to her neighbors. John 11:24
She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking her famous homemade tortillas, pancakes, bread, and pizza. It gave her great joy to make and give gifts from the heart. Many of her family and friends received tin men made out of cans, dollhouses, painted pictures, drawings, poetry, and short stories. She dearly loved camping and beach trips with her children and grandchildren. She longed to join us in so many activities but was limited due to her disability. The next time we see her she will finally be able to dance and run races with us to her hearts content! Isaiah 35:6
Wanda is survived by sons, Daryl Robinson and wife Sherie and Roy Robinson and wife Kelly; daughters, Venia Baldobino and husband Dolores “Bino” and Cheryl Benoit and husband Arnold; grandchildren, Jared, Jeremy, Jessica, Bobby, Aleesha, Dakota, Adrianna, Delaney and Ciara; and 11 great-grandchildren. She had numerous friends that she called family, brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don Robinson, and her son Nathan.
Her service will be conducted via Zoom Saturday, June 18, at 11:00 a.m.
