Mr. Jose Margarito Chavarria, 65, of Navasota, passed away Saturday, July 3, at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Visitation with family and friends was Monday, July 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Nobles Funeral Chapel with a parish rosary following at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, at the funeral home with Rev. Lupe Ybarra officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Jose was born in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, on March 10, 1956, to Faustino and Consuelo (Valenzuela) Chavarria. He was a retired grinder with NOV Grant Prideco in Navasota and in his spare time Jose enjoyed watching Telemundo and soccer.

His love for music was also his passion because he enjoyed singing and playing the accordian and piano. One of Jose’s favorite pastimes was riding around town and visiting with his friends. If you really knew him, you definitely knew Jose loved to stay clean and that’s why he was given the nickname “Mr. Clean.”

Jose is survived by his daughter, Jessica Pizarro of Palestine; nephew, Miguel Ortega and wife Rosemary Zaragoza of Navasota; nieces, Lucy Vega and husband Juan Contreras of Navasota, Monica Cabrera and husband Jesus of Navasota, and Maricela Chavarria and husband Jose A. Ramirez of Navasota; brother, Antonio Valenzuela of Comofort, GTO Mexico; sisters, Maria Adela and husband Antonio Diaz of Comofort, GTO Mexico, Maria Ortega and husband Daniel of Comofort, GTO Mexico, and Maria Esperanza and husband Victor Cabrera of San Miguel de Allende, GTO Mexico; 4 grandchildren; and 11 great nieces and nephews.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jose Guadalupe Chavarria; and sister, Maria Elena Chavarria.

Serving as pallbearers are Jesus Cabrera, Juan Contreras, Jose A. Ramirez, Miguel Ortega, Daniel Ortega, and Felipe Aguirre. Juan Cazares is an honorary pallbearer.
