ANNIE M. PHILLIPS

Annie Mary Mattern Phillips, 85, of Anderson, died Saturday morning, June 8, 2019, at her home.

A gathering of family and friends took place from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2019, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. A parish rosary recited by Delores Posinski, followed at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass celebrating Annie’s life was 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson. Rev. Paul Lockey was the celebrant. The rite of committal followed in St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery.

Annie was born April 15, 1934 in Dobbin to Joe and Eva Stockert Mat-tern. She married Sells J. Phillips on April 21, 1951 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Plantersville and lived in Plantersville until 1964 when they moved to Anderson. Annie enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens listening to country music and was passionate about her cats and dogs. She was a long time member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sells J. Phillips, brothers, Martin and Reinhart Mattern and sisters, Maggie Mattern and Albina Diehl.

Surviving are her loving and devoted son, Thomas Phillips and wife Linda of Anderson along with numerous other relatives and friends.
