Suspect flees officers in Shiro
SHIRO - A suspect with active warrants picked up a felony offense while attempting to elude Grimes County Constables Thursday morning.
Around 10:30 a.m., April 20, Grimes County Constable Pct. 1, Dale Schaper and Deputy Constable James Ellis attempted to stop Michael Victor Briock II near Texas 30 and CR 229, for active arrest warrants. The suspect reportedly fled northbound on CR 229 before turning onto CR 239. Briock drove into an open gate and through a pasture before initially crashing his vehicle through a gate. Constable Schaper said intentionally causing damage to a fence or gate that houses livestock is an automatic felony offense.
Briock initially eluded officers but his vehicle was located on Texas 30 shortly thereafter. He was pulled over near Shiro Post Office and taken into custody. He had a female passenger who was detained. Briock was booked into the Grimes County Jail and charged with evading arrest/detention in a vehicle, a third-degree Felony, criminal mischief, a State Jail Felony, and for his active warrants.
Grimes County Sheriff’s Deputies, Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers and State Game Wardens assisted in the arrest.
