Starbuck's brewing from replat
The Navasota Planning and Zoning Commission met Thursday, June 9, and approved a replat of 10 properties located at 2010 SH 105 East paving the way for a Starbuck’s Coffeehouse in Navasota.
Ram Navasota, LLC project manager Michael Haworth said, “I know that one of the first things in this plan is a Starbuck’s on one of those lots and after that I don’t know that they have any initial firm plans.”
The developer’s replat application combines the 10 existing small lots into four large lots with lots No. 1 and No. 2 facing SH 105 East and lots No. 3 and No. 4 facing Durden Street. According to Haworth, lot No. 4 will serve as a shared detention basin.
Development Services Director Lupe Diosdado told commissioners that a Jack-in the-Box restaurant is slated to occupy lot No. 2.
Commissioners also approved a replat requested by Miriah Caskey on behalf of Anthony Cunneen for properties along Fairway Drive off SH 105 West legally described as Fly Away Field. According to Diosdado, 2.87 acres out of the Daniel Tyler Survey is currently undergoing the annexation process and will be addressed by city council June 13. It will be combined with lot 3R of Fly Away Field to allow for future access to Fairway Drive.
Diosdado said, “Lot No. 1 on the corner of Fairway Drive and 105, they’re making that a little bigger, they’re working with a developer who’s building a convenience store and gas station.”
In other action, commissioners approved the minutes of the April 14 and April 28 meetings.
Commissioners present were Dia Copeland, Debbie Hancock, James Harris,
Dr. John Walla and Todd Wisner. Carolyn Katkoski and chairman Randy Peters were absent.
Attending on behalf of the City were city council liaison Grant Holt, City Manager Jason Weeks and Budget Analyst/Grant Coordinator Kay Peavy.
