Shiro stabbing suspect at large

SHIRO - The search for a 45-year-old, Elpidio DeLeon Gonzalez, continues in Shiro. He is wanted for stabbing two victims with a machete near Shiro Grocery Store.

He was last seen in a white, Mitsubishi Mirage without hubcaps exposing black rims. 

Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell said around 6:30 p.m., Sunday Nov. 17, officers were dispatched to a travel trailer behind Shiro Grocery Store off Texas 30.

A male and female both sustained serious injuries and were air-lifted to Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston. 

Sowell said one victim is in critical condition and another “in more than critical condition.”

The suspect is reportedly the ex-boyfriend of the female victim. She was at the home of her new boyfriend where he and his mother live.

Sowell said the suspect forced his way into the home where he attacked the victims.
