Safety project begins on FM 2

GRIMES COUNTY – On Monday, Nov. 1, the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) contractor began construction on a safety improvement project for an overpass at Texas State Highway 6 and Farm-to-Market Road 2 in Grimes County.

This project will construct new frontage roads, lower the elevation of SH 6 at the intersection of FM 2, construct an overpass for FM 2 over SH 6, and replace both SH 6 bridges over Beason creek.

The $18 million safety project is contracted to Larry Young Paving, Inc., and is anticipated to take 37 months to complete. TxDOT and their contractor appreciate everyone’s patience during this construction.
