Rep. Kyle Kacal Launches Re-Election Campaign to Texas House
COLLEGE STATION – State Representative Kyle Kacal announced his intention to seek re-election to the Texas House of Representatives. Kacal represents House District 12, which includes Grimes, Madison, Robertson, Walker and Washington counties, as well as a portion of Brazos County.
During the 2023 Texas legislative session, Kacal secured over $1.4 billion in funding for school safety measures, provided a costof- living increase for retired teachers, and increased the state’s contribution to local schools to over 50% for the first time ever to reduce the burden on property taxpayers and local governments. He also passed a budget that allocates over $5 billion to border security operations, and bypassed Washington with an interstate compact for border enforcement which allows Texas to work directly with other states to defend the southern border.
As one of the legislature’s strongest advocates for rural Texas, Kacal also invested in rural water and broadband infrastructure, passed the Texas Jobs and Security Act to keep Texas at the forefront of job creation in the U.S., and he helped put Proposition 1 (the Right to Farm Amendment to the Constitution) on this November’s ballot to protect family farms and ranches across the state.
“We’ve made great strides in addressing many of the critical needs of our state, especially in rural Texas, to ensure that we continue to be the envy of the nation,” Kacal said. “But there’s more work to be done. Now, more than ever, it’s important for the rural areas of our state to maintain a strong voice in the Texas House that speaks to our values and way of life. It is my great honor to be that voice for District 12, and I look forward to continuing my service to our communities.”
Kacal runs a large-scale cattle business in addition to a full-service hunting operation in Brazos County. He and his wife, Marci, have two children, Carter and Kendall. The family is actively involved in their church, St. Thomas Aquinas.
