Navasota centenarian Blue a faithful voter
Navasota resident Imogene Blue turns 100 years old in December and epitomizes the citizen who understands the privilege of voting and the responsibility to do so. She was one of the 400-plus who voted in the Constitutional Amendment Election at the Navasota Center Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Mrs. Blue requires a walker but prefers to vote in person rather than avail herself of the curbside option. In fact, she is recovering from a broken arm and received a physical assist from family but needed no mental assistance when it came to casting her vote on the propositions — her proposition “cheat sheet” was merely a backup!
Longtime Navasota election workers and residents recall that Mrs. Blue, and her late husband Alfred James Blue who died in 2020, were “regulars” at the Navasota Center who faithfully participated in the election process.
