Job fair coming Thursday, Aug. 12

Workforce Solutions Brazos Valley is hosting a hiring event Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Navasota Center, 102 Stadium Drive, from 10 a.m. until noon.

“We are traveling to Navasota because now that things seem to be getting better, things are opening up, and people are getting out more, we want to help everyone,” explained Nathan Muir, of Workforce Solutions.

Muir said there are seven confirmed employers for the event including: The City of Navasota, Goldstar Transit, Navasota Nursing and Rehab, Comfort Inn and Suites, Rail and Rye and Blue Bell Creameries.

Now, after a year filled with a pandemic and staying inside, it might be a hard adjustment getting out again, but Muir says just come in prepared and dressed to impress.

“I know it has been a while since people have been face-to-face. Especially when it comes to a job interview. Just relax, be comfortable. Put on your best, because these employers will be interviewing on the spot. Just go in, feel free, happy, and be glad that we are able to talk to someone face-to-face again,” said Muir.

Navasota Mayor Bert Miller, a Workforce Solutions Brazos Valley Board member who represents Grimes County explained, “To those looking for employment or are looking to improve your current situation, this is a great opportunity you should not miss.”
