Jail library, auto theft task force topics at Crime Stoppers
The Grimes County jail library program and auto theft will be topics of Grimes County Crime Stoppers’ guest speakers at the organization’s Thursday, July 6, meeting.
Jail Librarian Melissa Ferguson will explain how the jail’s donation book program works, what books are acceptable and how to donate. Ferguson, a longtime employee of the GCSO, brings a wealth of experience to the job based on her extensive background in Library Science.
GCSO Detective Logan Peck, assigned to the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force, will discuss the value the interlocal agreement with Montgomery County brings to Grimes County residents as well as the challenges combating auto theft in this technological age.
Grimes County Crime Stoppers meet at 6 p.m. the first Thursday of each month in Commissioners Court at the Grimes County Justice and Business Center, 270 FM 149 West in Anderson.
