GC Amateur Radio Field Day June 24

Grimes County Amateur Radio Group is hosting their annualAmerican Radio Relay League Field Day Saturday, June 24, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Grimes County VFW Post 4006.

The event is free, open to the public and GMRS operators.

• Have you ever wondered what you would do if the power went out?

• How would you be able to communicate with family and friends?

• Are you looking to learn about applied physics, electronics, communication, and much more?

• Do you find the idea of off-grid communication with others around the country and globe fascinating?

• Does the concept of using radio technology to assist your community intrigue you?

• How about using radio to communicate digital information thousands of miles without the internet?

• Are you looking for a new hobby?

If the answer to any of these questions is YES, then this is the event for you!

At Field Day 2023, licensed amateur radio operators will be available to help you get your voice on the air while learning more about the art and science of radio. Come learn about the community service aspect of ham radio with the local ham radio operators who volunteer for emergency services and in local events. Demonstrations and informational material will be available.
