Feelin’ Groovy at the Groovy Grapes Wine Walk

The Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Groovy Grapes Wine Walk in historic downtown Navasota on Saturday, April 16, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. The wine walkers are asked to check in at the Navasota Visitor’s Center, located at the corner of Washington Avenue and Farquhar Street There they will receive a commemorative wine glass along with an event map that also serves as a punch card to present at each location. Next is a stroll through the various participating businesses marked on the map, all-the-while enjoying a wide variety of regionally produced wines and snacks at each location. Those who visit each designated location will be entered into a drawing for prizes donated by the local businesses.

“The Groovy Grapes Wme Walk draws hundreds of visitors into the Navasota area each year,” said Johnny McNally, Executive Director of the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce. “Our goals for this event are to showcase our beautiful downtown area, to promote the wonderful businesses that we have here, and also to bring some exposure to the various wineries located in this area”

In addition to wine stops, there are several businesses that are designated as non-alcohol stops and will serve snacks and temperance drinks. And there will be music. Musicians will be performing live on the streets throughout the route to add to the ambience and ei mite a festive and fun atmosphere.
