Crosswalk phase one complete

TxDOT recently completed phase one of the pedestrian crosswalk and median turning lane in downtown Navasota and completely reopened the roadway Thurs day, May 5.

Phase one stretched along East Washington Avenue (Hwy. 105 East) from LaSalle to South Railroad Street. As a reminder the crosswalk is meant to help pedestrians safely cross the street, but the median is not meant to be utilized as a sidewalk.

Phase two of the project will construct the crosswalk at the Farquhar Street intersection to Blues Alley (near Classic Rock Coffee Co.) and is expected to take approximately four weeks. TxDOT’s construction team plans to work overnight Sundays through Fridays from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. until construction is complete. Schedules are dependent on weather, field conditions, and work progress.
