Blues returns to Navasota
It has been since 2016 that the Blues Capital of Texas had a festival to celebrate the music of its pastime, but the Navasota Blues Review (NBR) is bringing the beloved sound back home.
The first installment of NBR will feature a four-band lineup all with local roots.
All four great bands will take the stage at the Junction Dance Hall, 8949 South Business Highway 6 in Navasota, Saturday, Aug.

Tickets may be purchased at The Junction in advance or the day of the event or by calling Tubie Pushee 979-324-1227. Tickets are $15 and proceeds raised will benefit The Navasota Foundation for community projects.
Multi award-winning blues man and event coordinator Tubie Pushe´e and his band The Touchtones will headline the inaugural event performing alongside is special guest Mislette The Singing Cowgirl.
Tubie has performed in The Texas State Capital Rotunda twice and opened for Foghat. He has been voted best in Grimes County four times and nominated for state musician of the year by the office of the governor twice. Pushe´e has released five albums featuring many original hits written by himself. They will take the stage at 9:45 p.m.
Jump-starting NBR and first onstage at 6 p.m. is the Paul James Band. The band features an array of sounds from blues, classic rock and country hits. They have many years of experience and their vocals and sound are second to none.
Randy Pavlock & Twenty Four Seven return to the blues stage with a fresh new album release. Pavlock is a world traveler who has performed alongside the best in the business. His musical journeys have taken him all over including Holland. He has spent many nights performing in Austin, the live music capital of Texas. His guitar playing immolates the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan. They take the stage at 7:15 p.m.
Eugene show off their talents at 8:30 p.m. The band brings a soulful mixture of blues, jazz, rhythm and blues and soul. They are another local favorite from the Bryan area. Many years of experience have culminated into one of the most polished sounds you’ll hear.
Barbecue sandwiches and tamales sponsored by Navasota and Anderson Knights of Columbus will be available for purchase.
