ASCISD hires new principal
ANDERSON – Anderson-Shiro Consolidated Independent School District announced Dr. Matt Caffey will join the Owl family this summer as the new Jr/Sr High School Principal. ASCISD Board of Trustees approved the hire during the monthly meeting Monday, Apr. 11.
Caffey will replace Dwayne Ross who is retiring in May. Ross served the district as principal for three years. Currently Caffey is a
Currently Caffey is a principal at Olney ISD and has served in that capacity for six years. Prior to his current role, he served as the Secondary Curriculum Specialist for Athens ISD and as an Assistant Principal at College Station ISD.
Caffey is a former high school English Language Arts teacher. His leadership journey began at Texas A&M University earning a Bachelors in English and a Master of Curriculum and Instruction. He then attended Stephen F. Austin University where he earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Caffey then completed his Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech University.
Also joining the Owl family is Caffey’s wife Lani, who is also an educator, and their two children.
