PWGC hosting book drive

The Progressive Women of Grimes County (PWGC) approved plans to sponsor a Christmas book drive, benefiting Navasota’s Head Start Program at their October meeting. Starting Nov. 4, books and donations can be dropped off at the Muddy Waters Book Store,120 E. Washington in Navasota. Donations being accepted are new and gently used children’s books along with toys appropriate for ages 3 to 6. Cash donations are also appreciated but Muddy Waters has an excellent selection of children’s books that can be purchased there.

The drive will end Saturday, Dec. 12. In place of the regular monthly meeting there will be a Christmas open house at 201 E. Washington in Navasota, beginning at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcomed to join to stuff stockings, while enjoying hot chocolate and cookies.
