Byrd promoted to corporal with Navasota PD

Navasota Police Officer James Byrd was promoted to corporal Friday, Dec. 10. Byrd has been with Navasota Police Department for a year and a half. His mom said he was destined to be in law enforcement since a young child, and Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt stated Byrd's work ethic and passion for law enforcement is the reason for the promotion and foundation for what he anticipates will be a continued successful career.
