Sweet Deviation LLC opens in Plantersville
Congratulations to Sweet Deviation LLC on their grand opening in Plantersville Saturday, May 25. They raise alpacas and angora goats to harvest their fiber. Sweet Deviation also offers felting, knitting and weaving workshops. They are located at 15462 State Highway 105 in Plantersville.
Join the Matthew’s Family and Charm & Sewing 4-H Club as they collect books through May 31, for local hospitals. They are collecting new or slightly used children’s books. St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia invites everyone to participate in the gospel play “The Old Ship of Zion” Saturday, June 8, 7 p.m. The rehearsal for the play is Tuesday, June 4, 6 p.m. If you can’t make it to rehearsal, you can still be in the play Saturday. We need someone to play the blind man, foolish virgins, wise virgins, prodigal son to name a few. This play will help you understand why you need your ticket stamped for glory land. The 67th annual Grimes County Fair is approaching fast. The first day of the fair is May 29 and runs through June 8. The fair will kick off with the crowning of the fair queen, a rodeo, and a dance featuring Landon Dodd, Saturday, June 1. The Judson Cole Band will perform Friday, June 7, and the fair will close out Saturday, June 8, with a bull buck out and dance featuring Clayton Gardner. The premium sale is slated for Thursday, June 6.
Plantersville Baptist Church is planning a roaring good time at vacation bible school June 24, 25, and 26, from 9 a.m. till noon. There will be crafts, stories, activities, music, games, videos snacks and friends. All children ages 4-11 are invited to participate.
