Spaces available for Biloxi/New Orleans trip

This week’s news will be short and sweet. I have not even thought about writing the news much less what’s going on around Anderson or the world. Don and I are in the process of moving about 5 miles out of town and I can tell you I am never, ever going to move again. Especially moving from a house you’ve lived in for 31 plus years. Do you know how much stuff you gather in that amount of years? I have no idea why I kept some of this stuff. The end of this week, Friday and Saturday, July 5, and 6, I will be having a garage sale under the carport at 244 Hill St. in town. What doesn’t go will go somewhere else and not here that’s for sure.

And to answer this question I’ve been asked quite often lately, no, we are not selling the house right now. Our middle daughter Brandi and husband Dave Waitz will be moving in with their two boys Luke and Colton. Luke will be starting kindergarten at Anderson Elementary this August. Colton will follow in a couple of years. Today, they asked me which room was going to be their bedroom and I showed them. I also told them that this very room was also their mother’s bedroom when she was little. They were excited about that. The Waitz’s are moving here from Montgomery and I’m excited about that!

St. Mary’s Guardian Angels Seniors group is planning another trip, this time to Biloxi and New Orleans Sept. 23 through 27, 2019. The price is $499 double occupancy and $694 single. The trip includes transportation, five days, four nights, eight meals, casinos, tour of Bay St. Louis, Mardi Gras World, Mississippi Riverboat Cruise and much more. Overnight accommodations will be at one casino, so no changing hotels. The deposit of $75 is due upon signing and all deposits must be in as soon as possible. Checks should be made out to the St. Mary’s Guardian Angels and mailed to Nancy Schlottman at 22149 Stone Creek Ln., Montgomery, TX 77316. This trip is not open only to St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s parishioners, it’s for anyone you know (friends, family, neighbors etc.). There are just a few spaces left so if you are interested, please respond to Nancy as soon as possible.
