Report is what they always tell us in program training with the VFW Auxiliary. Well, I am about reported out. I have been trying to catch up and now I have the mid-year reports. If I must be honest, I do not really like to do those!

Except for reports, my week has been low key. I have not been in the neighborhood to hear about anything that may be happening in White Hall. I did make it to the store this week, but I still didn’t find out any good gossip.

Church on Wednesday for Thanksgiving was good. Pastor had verses from the Bible that he assigned to members to read and then he gave examples. There were several hymns to sing. Paige and Kohen asked to ride with me and Paige and I got tickled that when Kohen woke up, Pastor was standing close to us talking and that little boy just watched, or shall I say stared at Pastor. Well, at almost 3 months he isn’t aware that he is giving “the look”.

Thanksgiving at Joni’s was good except not all the grands were able to come; Jordan and Kaleigh went to Iola. However, all the bonus grands and great grands showed up for food. I took home left-overs but let’s just say the giblet gravy made it to White Hall but not into my house!

Remember there are three churches in our community that welcome visitors. Salem has been blessed with new members and is thankful for that.

Grimes VFW Post 4006 still has a drop-off area for socks, gloves and caps for veterans, pull-tabs from cans for Ronald McDonald House, plastic caps for recycling to make park benches and if you wish to leave nonperishable items, we will get them delivered. The Charm and Sewing 4-H group is collecting toys for tots also.

The Grimes Health Resource Center (GHRC) is collecting old shoes that could still be worn by the needy. The deadline to have these at the hospital by Friday, Dec. 3.

Al Ripper called me last week and indicated he is doing well. He has been home for a while but lost my phone number. It was good to hear from him.

Please continue to keep our sick and homebound friends on your prayer list. These friends include Leon Gorney, Sue Kolojaco, Mary Bauer, Rosa Finke, Jack Rimes, Marilyn Frenzel, Lois Bell, Jean Fleischhauer, Margaret Schultz, Lynette Frenzel, Delores Mitschke, Glenn Binder, Laura Pursley, Butch Fields, Mary Whatley, Conley Sechelski, Mary Fontaine and Alexander Hanna.

If you would, please add those caretakers to your prayer list, as well as, all families who have relatives who may be ill. I saw an article recently that reminded me again that this time of the year can be depressing to people who have lost family members, are sick, live alone and many other reasons. Try to reach out to these people because you never know - you could make their day better.
