Benefit for veterans Saturday, Jan. 22
The first Saturday WHCVFD was postponed until Saturday, Jan. 8. Attendance was low, and weather was not the best, but we still want to thank all the loyal customers who purchased sandwiches. We look forward to seeing you Feb. 5.
The Grimes Health Resource Center needs a senior driver for their meals program. This is a paid position. If you are interested, please call their office, 936-870-4575.
Union Grove Baptist Church (UGBC), 15301 FM 362, Navasota, led by Pastor Faber McMullen, is hosting an event for children of all ages: elementary to high school and their families, Saturday Jan 22, from 4 - 7 p.m. Join them for an evening of fun and fellowship! They will have hay rides and a hot dog cookout with s’mores and hot chocolate. All are welcome!
Sunday Jan 30, at 10:30 a.m. UGBC will host the very popular quarterly fifth Sunday Singing. It is a service of primarily hymns and singing with extra musicians and a covered dish dinner following in the fellowship hall. This is a great opportunity to visit our church community and get to meet your neighbors in White Hall! Requests for songs accepted.
The American Legion McCluskey Post 640 in Anderson will be hosting a benefit for veterans and families Saturday, Jan. 22, from noon till 5 p.m. at the K.C. Hall. Elvis tribute artist, Terry Price, will be performing and local musician, Bill Mock, is included in this entertainment. Admission is $15 or $20 at the door with kids under six free. Two hot dogs, chips and a drink are included with admission. This Post 640 uses the money they raise to help veterans and their families in many ways. Salem Ladies Circle met Wednesday beginning with a Bible Study led by Pastor Mayerhoff followed by our business meeting. The attendance was good, and the fellowship was great!
