Back to school drives at various locations

Macedonia Baptist Church invites Grimes County to a three-day revival featuring a minister raised and trained locally at Macedonia. The revival is Sept. 13-15 featuring Pastor Earnest Powell of Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church in La Vernia. Services begin at 7 p.m.

The church will also sell fish dinners Friday, Sept. 15, in the old Pizza Hut parking lot, 501 S. LaSalle Street in Navasota from 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Dinners will include dessert and a drink for $15.

Grimes County True Blue Foundation Banquet is Saturday, Aug. 19, at Grimes County Fairgrounds with VIP access at 6 p.m. and general admission at 6:45 p.m. John Schneider from the tv shows Dukes of Hazard and The Have and Have Nots is one of the guests. Grimes Health Resource Center Community Clothes Closet will have extended hours for back-to-school: Aug. 2 - 4-7 p.m., Aug. 7 – 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Regular hours are Mondays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. They will close at 6 p.m. if extra hours are not utilized.
