White Hall News

By Georgia Molitor

Sunday night it seemed to get dark earlier, maybe it was just me. Perhaps my brain is trying to get prepared for the time change on Nov. 6.

“Yoga for a Cause” is beginning at Salem Lutheran Church Saturday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. Your free-will donation to this all-levels yoga class will be donated to the Christian Community Services Center Food Pantry. Bring your own mat and props as needed (towel, blanket, blocks, yoga strap, etc.)  The instructor is Jolleen who is a certified YogaFit instructor and AFAA certified personal fitness trainer. She is very passionate about the health and well-being of our community. Jolleen is excited about meeting you and working with anyone who wishes to come to the church, 2373 FM 2988, Navasota. For more information email Jolleen, jolleen.christians@gmail.com

It is important to take time to vote. If you have not voted, election day is Nov. 8. Every vote counts.

If you are still interested in assisting with purchasing wreaths for veteran’s graves at Salem Lutheran, please let me know. I would like to have the order turned in by the middle of November. These will be placed on the graves Saturday, Dec. 17, with a special ceremony. I will keep you posted.

Courtney-White Hall 4-H will have another Bake Sale Fundraiser Nov. 19 at the White Hall Store beginning at 9 a.m. If you are nearby and need some good desserts, please stop by and help this group. They always have good food and will take a check too.

The Grimes Resource Health Center (GHRC) is collecting socks for the elderly this year. There will be drop boxes around Navasota and locations will be listed as soon as these are secured.

Grimes County VFW Post 4006 Auxiliary is still collecting pull tabs which are used for donations to the Ronald McDonald House. You can drop these off at Discount Cleaners.

Get Excited about the Red, White and Blue is a vocal contest the VFW offers. To find out more, checkvfwauxiliary.org, What We Do, Scholarships and Contests. “Additional Resources” listed at the bottom of the page offers rules and application.
