Navasota Public Library is hosting a water day Wednesday, July 5, from noon to 5 p.m. There will be all sorts of cool, wet fun including waterslides. Navasota Farmer’s Market will be held at the library Saturday, July 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Todd Mission Volunteer Fire Department, 21718 FM1774, Plantersville will be hosting a BBQ Fundraiser Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Plates are $15 each. Whole briskets are $100 each but must be preordered by Aug. 16.

Men Making Moves Scholarship Foundation is hosting their Annual Backpack Give Away Aug. 25, beginning at 10 a.m. for students in Head Start-12th grade. Navasota High School students must be present to receive a backpack.
The 2nd annual Plantersville Town Hall 52 guns raffl e tickets are on sale. Tickets are $100 each and one winner will be selected each week for 52 weeks. There are only 500 tickets being sold. Grimes County 4-H is having a one-day camp July 8, at the Grimes County Extension Office, 205 Veterans Memorial Drive in Navasota from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for ages 5-18. The City of Navasota and Navasota Police Department are seeking volunteers to assist during a renovation day at the shelter July 22, at 8 a.m.
City of Navasota is hosting Movies in the Park. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy movies in Brule Park, 103 Brosig Street, this summer. The city will host four total movies, one each Friday night in July with the last Friday geared towards a date night showing. Each movie will begin at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) and will be projected onto a large inflatable screen. The lineup includes: July 7 – Puss in Boots: The Last Wish; July 14 - Night at the Museum and July 21 – The Sandlot; July 28 – Top Gun: Maverick.
