Remembering my Mother
Since Sunday was Mother’s Day, I thought I’d share a story about my mother Dolores Hoffart of Dobbin. All of you that know my mother has a story and there are plenty of them. As busy a lady as she was, she rarely missed a party, baby or bridal shower. And you all know her dress code, everything matched from top to bottom.
We were all at a shower of some type and she walked in. A young lady greeted her and said, “Here Mrs. Hoffart, I’ll take that gift for you.” Mom replied, “Oh no, this one is not a gift. I couldn’t find a purse that matched my outfit, but this gift bag is a perfect match so I’m using it as a purse today.” You should have seen the look of embarrassment on all our (her daughter’s) faces. But today, it’s one of my most classic stories. Bless her soul, every day she still tends to bring a smile on my face for some reason or another. I love you Mama!
